Denise Speaks is a new website for Edmonton based Author, Poet, and Podcast Host Denise Walker. Her craft involves all things words, either written or spoken aloud. The visual identity for Denise Speaks is all about the balance of loud and soft, a contrast prevalent in her work.

The logo is an abstraction and simplification of the light of a lighthouse over rocky waters. The light is guide, a suggestion, for people to follow if they feel they need the safety and stability of land. The bold type is grounding and authoritative without being domineering. Again showing the balance of loud and soft.

The colour palette and artistic direction for Denise Walker’s projects are bold and colourful using highly saturated and playful colours. However as with the visual identity it is about the balance of loud colours with the breathability of ample white space. The art direction was expertly executed by Edmonton Photographer Dallas Curow and can be seen throughout the website.
